Client: Houston Street Center
Project: Provide a complete recognition and signage plan for the newly built Houston Street Center.
Solution: For the donor recognition part of the project this client had seen the work we did for the Dodge YMCA and wanted a similar look. We built them another Mondrian inspired donor wall but rather than using glass we used acid etched stainless steel. For the major donor plaques we created a series of deep carved sand blasted glass panels that were hung throughout the site.
The breakout part of this project was the room signage. These plaques were nor donor related but simply wayfinding related. We wanted to build their brand as strongly as possible. To do so they provided us with hundreds of photographs that we culled through and picked the best of the lot as well as the most relevant. Every room plaque had the office indicated by name and three related photographs. This project has become one of the best known installations in all of New York City.
