Project: Donor walls and donor plaques for a newly built wing.
Solution: This client had a designer who laid out all the recognition items. The project was sent out for bid to several donor wall and sign companies. When the plans reached our desk we were alarmed. As designed the project would fail in a hospital setting within several years. It was just the wrong materials. We called the client and expressed our concern. We offered to redesign the project at no cost to them and not change the look. They agreed. The new design proved correct and we were awarded the contract. Since then we have completed a second round of recognition walls and plaques, but this time in conjunction with the designer from the start.
Both projects consisted of deep carved sand blasted glass and stainless steel accent elements. The first set of donor walls were free standing and the second set were wall mounted. All of the donor plaques were sand blasted glass over metal logo panels. The look is quite exceptional and we give major kudos to the designing artist.
